Position Summary:
As an FSTD Technical Manager you will be responsible for managing a team and ensuring that our devices are maintenance to the highest industry standard to ensure their availability to our ATO.

Principal Responsibilities
- Provide first line management support and facilitate the Simulator Engineers to ensure all PMs, QTGs, Safety Checks, Flyouts are performed in a timely and efficient manner,
- Ensure defect rectification and modifications are performed in an efficient and timely manner,
- Ensure all facilities associated with the simulator department are maintained to relevant standards to ensure operational continuity,
- Mentor and develop the simulator engineers,
- Identify spares requirement and manage the efficient control and usage of spare parts,
- Promote the safe operations of OAA’s devices using the SMS as the foundation,
- Work with regulatory authorities to ensure all simulator approvals are maintained at the levels to support the ATO,
- Efficiently manage the simulator engineering team,
- Adopt and develop a succession plan using a graduate or apprenticeship scheme,
- Contribute to the development of OAA’s FSTD Organization as it grows with the ATO,
- Forecast and plan for future requirements and identify potential obsolescence and upgrades.
Minimum Qualifications & Experience
Formal Knowledge:
- Engineering graduate (BSc/MSc) in a relevant field (Aeronautical, Mechanical, Electrical, etc.).
- Knowledge of EASA Part ORA, CS-FSTD(A), ARINC 43X, RAeS FSTD Handbook, ICAO 9625 and associated requirement or procedures.
- Knowledge of FNPT II + MCC and FTD level devices gained through a formalized training course.
- Knowledge of:
- o human factors principles;
- o EU management system requirements and their application (including safety management systems and compliance monitoring) and ICAO Annex 19;
- o Quality/Compliance Monitoring systems;
- o Maintenance standards, methods and practices.
Formal Experience:
- At least 5 years’ experience in a similar position at a managerial level in any FSTDO in an EASA environment. Preference will be given to candidates having experience in ab-initio flight training environments.
- Experience of working with civil aviation regulatory authorities.
- Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices;
Other factors:
- High IT literacy level, including Office Suite, database management and ERP systems.
- Advanced level (C1 or C2) of written and spoken English. Preference will be given to candidates also fluent in Modern Standard Arabic.
- Excellent communications and leadership skills, capable of leading several independent multi-cultural teams.
